📱 Xiaomi and HyperOS setup guide

Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phones close background apps hard to save battery. That stops Scrollless from doing its job unless you turn on a few settings they keep tucked away. Do these four steps once and the app stays running. This page is for Android phones running MIUI or HyperOS.

1

Turn on the pop-up permission

Without this, Scrollless cannot show the timer or the break screen.

  1. Long-press the Scrollless icon on your home screen and tap App Info (the "i" icon).
  2. Tap on Other Permissions.
  3. Find Display pop-up windows while running in the background and set it to Always allow.
2

Turn off battery restrictions

This stops Xiaomi from closing the app to save battery.

  1. On the same App Info screen, tap on Battery Saver.
  2. Select No Restrictions.
3

Turn on Autostart

This lets Scrollless start on its own when you turn the phone on.

  1. On the same App Info screen, toggle Autostart to ON.
  2. (Optional) If prompted about battery usage, tap OK.
4

Lock the app (recommended)

This is the surest way to keep Scrollless running in the background.

  1. Open Scrollless.
  2. Open your Recent Apps screen (swipe up and hold square button).
  3. Long-press on the Scrollless window.
  4. Tap the Padlock icon.

Once locked, a small padlock shows next to the app name. The app stays active even when you clear all apps from recents.

💡 Why is this needed?

Xiaomi, Redmi and POCO phones run MIUI or HyperOS, which closes background apps far more aggressively than Samsung or Google phones do. These steps tell the system to leave Scrollless alone, so it can stay active and keep your apps locked when the timer ends.
