Privacy Policy

Effective Date: May 17, 2026

Scrollless ("we", "our", or "us") provides a mobile application (the "App") available on iOS and Android that helps users set timers for phone sessions to reduce distraction and promote mindful usage. Your privacy is central to the App's design. This Policy explains what information is and is not collected, how it is used, and how it is protected.

Summary

Scrollless does not require an account or sign-in. Scrollless itself does not collect names, email addresses, phone numbers, precise location, browsing history, contacts, messages, photos, or any other personal files. All app state (selected apps, timers, session history) is stored on your device. The App relies on a small number of third-party services, described below, that may collect technical and advertising identifiers governed by their own privacy policies.

Information We Collect Directly

Scrollless itself does not collect, store, or transmit any personally identifiable information to our servers. We do not operate user accounts and we do not maintain a database of users. All settings, blocked app selections, session timers, and usage history remain on your device. On iOS, app selections are stored as opaque FamilyActivitySelection tokens managed by Apple's Screen Time framework; these tokens never reveal the actual app identities to us.

Information Collected by Third-Party Services

The App integrates the following services. Each operates under its own privacy policy.

Google Firebase (Analytics & Crashlytics)

We use Firebase Analytics and Firebase Crashlytics to understand aggregate usage patterns (e.g., which features are used, how often sessions are started) and to receive crash reports that help us fix bugs. Firebase may collect: a Firebase installation identifier, device model and operating system version, language, country derived from IP, app version, in-app event names (e.g., "session_started"), and crash-diagnostic data (stack traces, device state at the time of crash). These signals are processed by Google in accordance with Google's privacy practices. See: Firebase Privacy and Security.

Google AdMob (Advertising)

Free-tier users see ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect device identifiers (such as Apple's IDFA on iOS or Google's Advertising ID on Android), IP address, coarse location, ad-interaction data, and similar information used to serve and measure advertisements. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, and Switzerland, ad serving is governed by your consent collected through Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP). On iOS, you control whether AdMob can use your device identifier through Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. Declining the prompt does not affect any app functionality. Ads will still display, but they will be non-personalized. See: Google Privacy Policy and AdMob & AdSense policy.

Apple App Store / StoreKit (iOS subscriptions)

On iOS, the optional Premium subscription is processed by Apple through StoreKit. Apple handles all payment information; we never see your credit card, billing address, or full Apple ID. We receive only a transaction receipt that confirms whether your subscription is active, used solely to enable the ad-free experience on your device. Apple's handling of purchase data is governed by Apple's privacy policy.

Google Play Billing (Android subscriptions)

On Android, subscription payments are processed by Google Play. We never see your payment information; we receive only an entitlement confirmation used to enable the ad-free experience on your device.

Apple Screen Time / Family Controls (iOS only)

On iOS, Scrollless uses Apple's Screen Time API, specifically the FamilyControls, DeviceActivity, and ManagedSettings frameworks, to block selected apps at the operating system level. Apple designs these frameworks so that user-selected apps and websites are referenced through opaque tokens that are not readable by Scrollless or transmitted off-device. Scrollless does not see, store, or transmit which apps you choose to block. All Screen Time enforcement happens locally on your device, coordinated by iOS.

App Tracking Transparency (iOS only)

On first launch, the App may show Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before AdMob loads. If you choose "Ask App Not to Track," AdMob will serve non-personalized ads and will not use your device's IDFA for cross-app or cross-site tracking. All core functionality remains fully available regardless of your choice.

Cookies

Scrollless is a native mobile application and does not use cookies. Third-party SDKs use mobile equivalents (advertising identifiers, installation IDs) as described above.

International Transfers

Firebase and AdMob process information on servers operated by Google, which may be located outside your country, including in the United States. Such transfers rely on Google's standard contractual clauses or equivalent safeguards.

Data Retention

App settings, selected apps, and session history are stored on your device only and are removed when you uninstall the App. Aggregated Firebase analytics and Crashlytics data are retained by Google for the periods described in their documentation (typically up to 14 months for analytics events). We do not back up or export any user data to our own infrastructure.

Data Security

All transmissions between the App and Google's services use encrypted connections (HTTPS / TLS). On iOS, Screen Time data is protected by Apple's system-level sandboxing. While we and our service providers apply reasonable safeguards, no method of electronic storage or transmission is 100% secure.

Your Rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of personal data relating to you (for example, under the EU/UK GDPR, the Swiss FADP, or the California Consumer Privacy Act). Because Scrollless itself does not maintain user accounts or personally identifiable records, most such requests should be directed to the relevant third party (Google, Apple) whose privacy policy governs their processing. For any request you would like us to handle, contact scrollless.app@gmail.com and we will respond within a reasonable timeframe.

Children

Scrollless is intended for a general audience and is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us and we will take appropriate steps to remove it.

Legal Disclosures

We do not sell or rent personal data. We may disclose limited technical information (such as crash diagnostics) if required by applicable law, regulation, or court order, or to protect our rights and users' safety.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy periodically to reflect product changes or legal requirements. Significant updates will be posted on our website and in-app, and the "Effective Date" above will be revised. Continued use of the App after any update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
